Crossroads Chiropractic and Wellness Center
I have been with Dr. Mark and Dr. Michelle for two years now. I began seeing them after a serious sports back injury and they and their staff have helped changed my life.
A bit of history…After growing up with a mother that also experienced a horrible back injury and due to poor insurance and workers comp…never received proper treatment for over 10 years-I refused to use the traditional route of care for my own injury. My mother was to the point where she was put into the care of a psychologist, whom along with the medical doctors, said it was all in her mind, drugging her constantly [up to 15 different pills a day including Prozac]. When she finally gained enough courage and some money, [I think her bouts of sudden paralysis convinced her] she went to a particular doctor that in no time found she had three crushed vertebrae and disks along with others that were in terrible condition. She agreed to back surgery and was informed that the reason her condition was so bad was due to lack of proper treatment early on. The new doctor agreed that in most likelihood her initial injury was rather minimal, but after 10 years of neglecting the injury and taking medicines that depleted her body of nutrients her bones could not take it and began to crumble. She agreed to back surgery and the entire ordeal was horrible for her, but today she is functioning well. She’s no where near 100% or pain free, but she is no longer living the nightmare she was enduring for those 10+ years.
Back to current day. My injury occurred on a Sunday night and my option was to go to the emergency room or wait until morning to visit this Chiropractor that my teammates recommended. Although I was in so much pain I was vomiting, I stayed awake all night and as soon as the office opened, my husband took me to see Dr. Mark Domanski. I began regular daily treatment and I admit I was still in pain for nearly a month straight [I refused to take anything for pain, even Advil-well...I must admit I did twice...I battled with migraines at the time and if I felt any sign of a headache during this time frame, I took the Advil] but I felt immediate relief for a few hours after an adjustment and additional treatments, and everyday the relief lasted a little longer. Within six weeks I was able to gingerly put on my pants, socks and shoes (somewhat) properly…but it took six months for me to be able to do anything physical again.
I continued on with the Wellness Center for my recovery and after my first year decided to stay on due to the fact that I not only received chiropractic care, the doctors and staff taught me about true health and how to achieve it. They are the ones that encouraged my husband and I to make this change…and there’s not enough I can do to thank them all.
I know chiropractic care is not for everyone, and not every Chiropractor is the same…but if you are the slightest bit interested you should go to the offices of a few in your area and just sit down and talk with them. Who knows, maybe one can change your life too. Chiropractic care does so much more than just “Pop” your back…they are putting your amazing spinal column back in alignment to allow your body to take care of itself. They of course address neck pain, low back pain, and headaches, but a variety of other health conditions as well. Go, find a few in your area and have a chat.
Personal Weight Loss Coach: Deborah McIncrow
I recently had the great pleasure of meeting Mrs. McIncrow at a local event that she and Thrive Cafe were hosting. I found Deborah to be very friendly, postive, intelligent and sincere. If you are in need of someone that can truely help you with your lack of motivation, inability to make healthy choices regarding your lifestyle and your difficulties with losing weight she is the coach for you. From her desire to help friends struggling with these issues, she created a Women’s Health and Wellness on-line Coaching Program. Her services are fantastic and priced very reasonably so that any “Lovely Lady” can benefit from her help.
